Vanity Top- remodel in a green way?
I'm remodeling my bathroom, and I've hit a snag. I had planned on having the vanity and shower repainted white to match the new decor. But the estimate is nearly 1k to do both. I decided to just do that vanity since I can cover the shower with a curtain. But I was told it would be less expensive to replace the vanity.
Trying to remodel in a green manner, I'd like to not purchase a new sink/vanity. This one's made of cultured marble. It's a kinda odd size- 43" across w/sink. I also do want to use paint chemicals that have high VOC's in them.
Any ideas of what to do?
That's a tough one. At least you're not trying to purchase a new top that would create a ton of CO2 usage.
I'd try to find a durable paint. Rough up the surface a bit before painting. Maybe you can find an acid or something to etch it so the paint will adhere.
